Taste Illusion

Charlie DeLorey

Last Friday Shai demonstrated a very interesting illusion, using these pills called Miracle Fruit. They bond to taste receptors on the tongue. When acidic foods, such as lemons or even sour pickles, are eaten, it induces the taste of sweet rather than sour, making sour foods taste sweet. I personally ate lemons, grapefruit, and blood orange. The lemons in particular tasted very sweet, in my opinion.
